You are cordially invited to audition for membership in The Ohio State University High School Honor Band.  Held January 18-20, 2013 on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus, this event is one of the longest running and finest of its kind.

What you can expect:

• Join other advanced high school musicians from around the state and beyond for an exciting weekend of concerts and high-level music making.
• Rehearsals and a concert of challenging and rewarding repertoire conducted by Dr. Russel C. Mikkelson and guest conductor Dr. Scott A. Jones.
• Master classes by The Ohio State University School of Music Faculty.
• An opening concert by The Ohio State University Wind Symphony.
• An evening buffet and supervised activities on Saturday evening.

  $150 (with two night hotel stay)

  Application to the OSU High School Honor Band involves two separate and required steps:
  
  
  1. On-Line Registration – All applicants for the High School Honor Band must complete on-line registration in its entirety. In addition to home contact information (mailing address, phone, etc) students will need to have the following required information to complete the on-line application: Parent email address, phone, high school mailing address, band director email address, and band director school phone number. Please gather this information and ensure its accuracy before completing the on-line registration process.

  2. Audition Recording - Each woodwind/brass applicant must submit an individual CD with NAME and INSTRUMENT clearly marked on the disc. Individuals who audition on more than one instrument will need to send separate recordings.
  
  
  
  Each percussion applicant must submit a DVD with upper torso/arms/hands clearly visible. Percussionists should audition on at least two instruments but should include all excerpts on one DVD. 
  
  
  
  Each disc/DVD should contain a maximum of seven minutes of music for each instrument. Excerpts should include two contrasting works, one lyrical and one technical. Please list the selections on your disc/DVD as well as your name and instrument.
